Keep service history with the home item it belongs to. A repair record can include what was done, the service date, company, phone number, cost, notes, and an invoice. The item can also hold receipt images and warranty provider, expiration, contact, notes, and warranty-card files. Use Maintenance for work that is due in the future. Use a repair record after work is completed so the history remains easy to understand.
Steps
- Open Home items, choose the item, and select Add a repair record for completed work.
- Add the date and useful details, attach the invoice if you have it, and review the item’s Receipt and Warranty sections.
Does not
- Contact the service company, submit a warranty claim, or verify that work was performed.
- Guarantee that a receipt, invoice, or warranty will be accepted by a buyer, insurer, or manufacturer.
Escalate when
- A repair or attachment will not save, an invoice cannot be opened, or a record appears on the wrong item.
