Shutoff notes live separately, under If it is safe — use them only if nobody is at risk and the fire department or utility has not told you to wait.

- If anyone is in danger, call 911 or your local emergency number first.
- Open People to add household contacts after 911. Use shutoff notes only if it is safe.
Does not
- Dispatch police, fire, or medical help.
- Tell you to approach gas, electrical, fire, structural, or medical danger.
- Let you remove or replace the 911 row with a household contact.
Escalate when
- 911 is missing, not first, or a household contact appears to have replaced it.
